March 5th Journaling with Inspirational Cards

For March 5th I pulled the Laurus nobilis card. The Laurel Tree shouts "Victory!" Grow into each new opportunity.

The Laurel tree has been cultivated for its aromatic "bay Leaves" that are widely used for flavoring meat, poultry, soups, and stews.

Moon phase is the waning crescent which symbolizes the Crone. She represents wisdom, repose, death, and endings. This is the hand of a wise woman whose swollen joints coincide with the swelling of the tree buds as spring approaches.

My polished red Jasper Stones also represent Wisdom. These can be used as "grounding stones". When negative energies or empathy and sensitivity to those around you overwhelm you, drain them off into the Earth.

March 4th Journaling with Inspiration Cards

The Tree Magick card for today is the Prunus persica which was cultivated thousands of years ago in the Yangtze River Valley.

I have a childhood memory of picking a warm ripe rosy peach off a tree in my great uncle's orchard in Arkansas. As I bit into the soft sweet fruit the juice ran down my chin and over my hand forever ruining the idea of buying a hard sour greenish-colored peach from a grocery store.

The flowers are produced in early spring before the leaves. Much LOVE, LIGHT, and PEACeH to everyone!

We had a surprise this morning as we March Fourth towards the Vernal Equinox - 12 inches of snow!

March 3rd Journaling with Inspirational Cards

Today's card is the ancient flowering tree Magnolia virginiana. Hope, love, health, and happiness!

Life energy - where will the winds and waves take you?

The leaves of the Magnolia tree are alternate, simple (not lobed), and the margins are entire (not toothed). The Magnolia can be evergreen in the South and deciduous in the Northern climes.

The flower perianth consists of tepals that take the place of sepals (the outermost whorls of a flower) and petals.

March 2nd - Pull Pen Paint with Nature Inspiration Cards

Today's card is The Strawberry Tree (native to the Mediterranean). So exciting to learn about something new! Arbutus unedo is a rare small evergreen tree or shrub that has ripe fruits at the same time that new blossoms appear in the autumn. This tree predicts that two great events could occur at the same time.

The fruits are edible and the seeds can be dispersed by birds. Folk lore tells us that it is lucky to find a cluster of 3 fruits.

The sweetly scented blossoms are pollinated by bees.

This is my 3 wishes rock because it has 3 complete white bands that encircle it.

My opening card was the Fig tree symbolizing Enlightenment. My image take-aways from the online discussion were a Metal Rabbit (my Chinese birth sign), a crystal for clarity, the universe (my belief system), and of course a fig leaf. A quote from the Tree Magick Fig Tree card "To see what is evident and what is hidden brings wisdom."

Quartz Crystal

Chinese Birth Sign: Metal Rabbit

A representation of the universe filling half of the page.
