Heartstones, River Rocks, and Purple Pebbles

Take joy in painting a rock! Watercolor pencils and acrylic glazing medium in Strathmore 500 Series Mixed Media.

Watch the video to see my process using watercolor pencils and acrylic glazing medium.

I have a habit of picking up stones and putting them in my pocket.

Wise Old Possum Woman says a rock with a white band that completely encircles it is called a Wishing Stone. If you find one you can make a wish, but for the wish to come true you must then throw the rock into a lake. Two white bands means two wishes!

The center concretion "Fairy Stone" comes from Canada. It was formed thousands of years ago from sand and clay in a large glacier lake.
