edm #114 Black-faced Pots

edm #114 draw something ugly that you love. I bought these at a sale, they're old, chipped, with worn-off paint. Don't know where or when they were made. I think they are glazed clay. The little one (there's actually 2 of them) is a salt shaker. I think the large one is a sugar bowl. Watercolor pencils, wet-on-wet. Oh yeah, if anyone out there knows anything about these, or has ever seen anything like them, please let me know! Thanks.

  1. I don't know anything about them, but I don't think they're ugly at all. The renderings are really nice, and as for the pots themselves, I think they're charming! nancy

  4. I don't know about the pots, but I'm sure there are people who collect such items.

I like your wet on wet drawings. I love using colored pencils, but haven't gotten the hang of using the watercolor pencils. I like your drawings using them, and I might give them another try.

    Nice work.

  7. Wonderful sketch! So good in fact, that I was able to find some online. They reminded me of the character Sambo, so I started with that.
